| Soroptimists
accomplish their goals at the community, national and international level
through six programs of service. Clubs provide financial assistance and
hands-on time and talent to: |
- Economic
& Social Development
The
committee encourages
membership, awareness, advocacy, and action concerning economic and
social development within our community and region.

Education/Foundation
The
committee promotes community
educational programs and youth forums. This committee also
promotes and administers Youth Citizenship/Violet Richardson , Women's
Opportunity, Fellowship and Foundations Awards.

- Health &
Environment
The
committee encourages
membership awareness, advocacy and action pertaining to health and the
environment. This committee will also promote health in our community
and work towards improving the environment.

- Human Rights &
Status of Women
The
committee encourages
membership, awareness, advocacy and action concerning human rights and
the status of women. This committee also solicits nominations and the
selection for the Woman of Distinction, Women Helping Women and Making
a Difference for Women awards.

- International
Goodwill & Understanding
The
committee encourages
membership awareness, advocacy and action pertaining to international
goodwill and understanding. This committee will also present one
program promoting International Goodwill on or around United Nations
Day, October 24, establish international friendship links to local,
national and international communities, and keep our club updated on
Soroptimist International programs and the President's Appeal.

- Service & Program
Committee
This
committee consists of the
vice- president and all service committee chairpersons. The committee
is responsible for supporting the vice-president in planning diverse,
balanced, creative and interesting club program meetings. The
committee will also support each committee chair to present two
programs a year promoting their program of service and provide
our newsletter, The Whale Watch, with articles about their
